Saarpor’s Graphite Insulating Lining paper is a brand new product that utilises the natural reflectivity of graphite to deliver an effective energy saving, thermal insulating and sound insulating wallcovering.
Made from a 4mm thick layer of BASF expandable polystyrene, infused with graphite particles and laminated to a high quality non-woven lining paper, Graphite Insulating Lining Paper delivers 20% better insulation performance than standard insulating lining paper. This is equivalent to having an extra 26cm of concrete on your walls over and above an insulating lining paper.
The special graphite particles act like thousands of mirrors reflecting thermal radiation back into the room and thus reducing heat loss and energy bills. Graphite Insulating Lining Paper is a Paste the Wall only product which makes it easy to hang and alongside it’s thermal properties, it is also very effective for covering damaged walls and plaster.
Benefits of Graphite Insulating Lining Paper
Important - If you are planning to hang lining paper or Wallpaper on top of Graphite Insulating Lining Paper, we strongly recommend that you use a non-woven lining paper such as Wallrock Fibreliner or Wallrock Fibreliner Plus.
Traditional lining paper shrinks and expands when pasted and can cause lifting on the joints. In contrast, non-woven lining paper is dimensionally stable and ensures a perfect finish.
Important Safety Information
Compliance with Building Regulations;
This product should not be used in isolation for projects such as new builds and extensions where Building Regulations are applicable. If used as part of a system that both adds to the insulation value and protects the surface from fire it may be compliant but expert advice should be sought.
Fire Safety
When used in isolation this product is suitable as a localised ‘problem solver’ for cold external walls and is not recommended for use in fire escape routes or on ceilings.
Fire resistance can also be improved significantly by cross lining the surface with Wallrock Fireliner applied with Fireliner FR Adhesive
Preparation
Surfaces painted prior to 1960 may contain lead pigments and special precautions should be taken when preparing such surfaces.

This is really good stuff, I bought a roll of the very expensive insulating liner which Id used in an area where I thought it would be best, then did the remaining walls in this stuff because its cheaper, but when I put my hands on the wall, this stuff feels the least cold. Its slightly delicate but if you just take your time and you can fill any cracks that you do cause in the paper with paste (especially if you are lining it with Fireliner which I would recommend for all it costs).

Covered all internal and external walls 10 years ago with this and then covered with Wallrock Premium 200. Now decided, why not remove the artex do all all the ceilings and use the cheaper Erfurt Mav 2000 Grade Professional Lining Paper.

Perfect and worth every penny, we had instant success using this thermal paper +graphite. We had noticed in some reviews that it was difficult to use, we did not find this but the polystyrene backing did crack in some places but this does not affect the outcome. Our big wall was exposed to the elements on two sides making the room loose heat it is also 180 years old and had been updated but not improved. However stripping the walls back and applying this thermal paper was all it needed. Fantastic product and as we have another room to do we shall be back for more. It’s worth mentioning that once the order was placed the delivery was very quick, great company highly recommended.
