Sound Proof Insulation Liner – The Low Cost Soundproofing Solution
At an incredible 6mm thick, our Saarpor Sound Proof Insulation Liner provides a simple DIY solution for homes and businesses that suffer from the inconvenience of sound pollution.
Made from a specially developed sound absorbing foam and laminated with a thick lining paper, Mav Sound Insulation Liner delivers as much sound insulation as 10 cm of concrete. This allows it to provide an effective barrier to the nuisance noises that come through your walls and ceilings. In addition, our Sound Insulation Liner is a lot cheaper than other sound proofing solutions and is a product that novice decorators can use.
Where to Use Sound Insulation Liner
Our Sound Proof insulating Liner is most effective when used to absorb sound and prevent it escaping into other rooms in the home. In other words, we recommend that you use it in the rooms where noise is being generated. So for instance, if you want to prevent noise from downstairs rooms travelling upstairs use the Sound Proof Liner on the walls and ceilings downstairs.
Understanding Sound
High frequency sounds tend to be the most grating on our nerves and so the higher the frequency of the sound, the better our Sound Proof Insulation Liner performs. For standard build houses you can expect:
24% Reduction at 1000 Hz - Chatting Etc.
62% Reduction for 2000 Hz - TV's / Radios Etc.
89% Reduction for 3000 Hz - Vacuum Cleaners, Lorries on the Road Etc.
Preparation
Do remember that this Sound Insulation Liner is incredibly thick as a wallcovering (6mm), so make sure you factor this in when planning to use it. Think about your light fixtures, skirting boards etc.
Because Sound Proof Insulation Liner is laminated with a thick cardboard like lining paper, it can be painted or papered onto directly, but for a professional finish we recommend lining over the top with an additional layer of non-woven lining paper such as Wallrock Fibreliner first.
Additional Benefits of Sound Insulation Liner
In addition to its soundproofing properties, this specialist liner also provides substantial heat insulation, covers cracked and damaged plaster and protects against damp.
Take a look at our NEW Sound Proof Insulation Liner today and say goodbye to nuisance noises for good.
Important - If you are planning to hang lining paper or Wallpaper on top of Sound Proof Insulating Liner, we strongly recommend that you use a non-woven lining paper such as Wallrock Fibreliner.
Traditional lining paper shrinks and expands when pasted and can cause lifting on the joints. In contrast, non-woven lining paper is dimensionally stable and ensures a perfect finish.
Sound Proof Disclaimer
As a company who prides itself on customer satisfaction we make every effort to ensure that we represent the effectiveness of our products as accurately as possible. In light of this, please be aware that the noise reduction figures stated on our website for our Sound Insulation Liner and Latex Sound Proof Liner products are the maximum amounts of noise reduction achieved when they were tested by the manufacturer on buildings with standard wall construction.
Sound transference is a complex subject and the actual amount of sound insulation homes will benefit from after installing these products will depend on a variety of factors such as the type of wall construction of both internal and external walls (breeze block walls are particularly difficult to acoustically insulate), the size and number of windows in the room and the type of floor/ceiling construction.
Sound is also transmitted via resonance effects from interconnecting structures such as joists under floors and above ceilings and not necessarily through the wall itself
For certain applications you may wish to seek advice from a sound proofing specialist to ascertain the best sound proofing solution for your home.
