We get asked many questions about wallpapering and how to apply to walls so we have put together a list of tips for hanging the Wallrock KV600 Thermal Lining Paper. Applying Thermal Liner Cut lengths to size allowing some extra for trimming at the top and bottom this will make it easier when trying to apply directly to the wall. Make sure you always apply the adhesive with a medium pile roller and use a brush for the corners, top and Bottom. One thing to look out for is the adhesive dries very quickly so make sure the room is as cool as possible with the windows open & radiators turned off, this will give you more time to apply usually around 5 minutes is the time before the adhesive starts to dry. Only paste the wall enough for 1 strip at a time leaving it wider to make sure the edges are covered and to reduce the amount on adhesive that will be applied for the next strip on the edges. Cutting Thermal Liner In our experience we find the best way to cut the Thermal Liner is when it is on the wall because if you lift off to cut with scissors the adhesive might need to be applied again as it dries very quickly. The best knife we have tried is an Olfa heavy duty snap 18mm, the blades are a special endurance and sharpened with a special bevel which is great for the Thermal Liner especially the new 4mm KV600 version. You can however use a normal Stanley knife but make sure you have loads of spare blades as you will need them. External Corners Wallrock KV600 Thermal Liner can bend around external corners but this will give you a rounded corner, if you want a straight corner then you will need to cut and then after cover with Wallrock Fibreliner as the felt backing of the Thermal liner will show from when it was cut. Internal Corners Do not go around external corners just cut into them as they will not be straight. What happens is the next wall the Thermal Liner will not be straight and this will cause problems when butt joining the product. Light Switches & Plug Sockets Unscrew these and tuck behind like you would do with normal wallpaper, when you come to screw back on tighten carefully so you do not press into the Thermal Liner, you might also needs some longer screws as the switches or plugs will be further away from the wall than before. Filling the Gaps (if needed) DO NOT apply the filler directly on to the surface of the paper, when you come to sand down if will damage the surface of the wallrock thermal liner. Paint the joints first as this will fill in any small gaps and then when you sand down and filler it should not damage the Wallrock KV600 Thermal Lining Paper surface.
